Work/study (dual study) courses at ROB

Work/study courses combine the acquisition of in-depth theoretical specialist knowledge with practical activities in the training company. The course is divided into alternating periods of practical work and study, each around 12 weeks long.

In partnership with Duale Hochschule Karlsruhe, we offer the following work/study courses:

  • Bachelor of Arts (m/f/x) – course in Industry
  • Bachelor of Engineering (m/f/x) – course in Electrical Engineering (AT)

Both courses require general or subject-specific Fach(hoch)schulreife secondary school leaving qualifications.

And if your performance is good, we will offer you a job when you finish your course. That’s a promise!

Work/study (dual study) course

Bachelor of Arts (m/f/x) – course in Industry

The course focuses on familiarization with industrial processes in the company and their implementation in daily routine.

  • In the first 4 semesters you will become familiar with the following functional areas and be involved in their processes and activities: Materials/production management, marketing/sales, finance and accounting/controlling, and HR/administration.
  • From the 5th semester you major in two specialist functional areas and write a bachelor thesis.
  • Theoretical tuition takes place at Duale Hochschule Karlsruhe within the framework of the Industry major course.
  • The course is 3 years (6 semesters).
  • Start of course: October

Work/study (dual study) course

Bachelor of Engineering (m/f/x) – course in Electrical Engineering (AT)

The course focuses on electrical engineering with automation technology as a specialist subject. Customer-specific requirements and their implementation in complex assemblies and systems form the main focus.

  • In the practical phases, which take place at ROB, you will learn the basic principles of electrical, electronic and microcomputer engineering.
  • Additional practical skills include the required programming languages an d software tools for circuit design and simulation.
  • From the 5th semester you specialize in automation technology and write a bachelor thesis.
  • Theoretical tuition takes place at Duale Hochschule Karlsruhe within the framework of the Industry major course.
  • The course is 3 years (6 semesters).
  • Start of course: October
